Our Story

Theatre Untitled was created by artists who know how much one opportunity can change everything.

We’re a New York City–based nonprofit that supports artists across a lifetime — from first creative spark to full artistic career. We believe artists play a vital role in how we understand each other and the world around us, and they deserve the support necessary to do that work well and sustainably. That means time, resources, mentorship, and pay — never asking artists to fund their own development.

Our community is intentionally intergenerational. Young artists train with working professionals through our education program, Actor’s Professional Theatre Conservatory (APTC), while those same professionals develop new plays, music, and performance work through Theatre Untitled’s artistic programs. Artists teach. Students grow into professionals. Professionals keep growing too. It’s a creative cycle, not a ladder.

 

We believe the future of theatre is built by supporting the present — by valuing process as much as product, removing barriers to access, and keeping new work connected to real people and real communities.
