Theatre [Untitled]’s Commitment to Equity and Inclusion
Theatre [Untitled]’s mission is to provide a nurturing platform for undiscovered artists to forge igniting, challenging, and emboldening new and reinvented works while educating and empowering the next generation of artists. We recognize the harsh inequalities that exist in the American Theatre today. For far too long, key contributors to the American fabric and thus the American Theatre have gone unseen, unheard, and undiscovered. In the hopes of creating a new industry standard, we subscribe to this moral, living, and long overdue document. This plan has been created in line with the values of like minded groups that are leading this change within our industry. These groups (including We See You W.A.T. and the Broadway Advocacy Coalition) are from a diverse background and the vision of what our industry should strive to represent.
These ideals are an expansion of our company’s Core Values and are a part of our Mission Statement in the way we do business. Equality is woven into the fabric of our company. We understand that movement happens where there are greater expectations and we commit to creating the space to realize those greater expectations. Artistic Programming Theatre [Untitled] will execute and consistently evaluate Artistic Programming during season planning, educational programming, casting, hiring, and any other programmatic endeavor. We pledge to be held publicly accountable and are committed to revisiting and revising this plan as we, the American Theatre, and the world grow.
